Hummus
My adaptation on a great recipe from a great friend
Makes 1 1/4 cup: 1 Tbls - 24 calories, .4 g fat, 0 g sat fat, 4.2 g carbs, 1.1 grams fiber, 1.3 g protien

1 can chick peas (drained, reserve the liquid)
1 Tbls. minced garlic (or to taste)
1 Tbls. lemon juice
1 Tbls. cumin
1/2 tsp salt
dash of pepper

Set aside reserved liquid.  Put all other ingredients in a blender.  Add about half of the reserved liquid.  Puree until smooth, adding more liquid as necessary until desired consistency is reached.  If you want to change it up now and then try adding a jalapeno, roasted red pepper, a handful of basil, or whatever else sound good to you.

Salty Air-Popped Popcorn
Love the low cals of popcorn, but how to make the popcorn stick without adding fat?
Makes 4-6 cups: 48 calories, trace fat, 0 g sat fat, 36 g carbs, 6 grams fiber, 6 g protein

1/4 cup popcorn, and seriously, buy Orville Redenbacher.  There IS a difference!
No-calorie cooking spray
salt

OK, so this is more of a tip than a recipe.  Air pop the corn.  Spray with cooking spray, salt to taste.  By the way, there is, of course, calories to no-calorie cooking spray.  A 2-3 second spray is about 7 calories.  So don't douse your popcorn, just enough to salt it.
